Lesson 3: Proprties of limits

Here are some properties of limits if \(\lim_{x \to a} f(x) = M, \lim_{x \to a} g(x) = N\): $$\lim_{x \to a} c = c \text{ (c is a constant)}$$ $$\lim_{x \to a} x^n = a^n$$ $$\lim_{x \to a} [f(x) + g(x)] = \lim_{x \to a} f(x) + \lim_{x \to a} g(x) = M + N$$ this identity works EXACTLY the same in subtraction, division and multiplication $$\lim_{x \to a} [k \cdot f(x)] = k \cdot \lim_{x \to a} f(x) = k \cdot M$$ $$\lim_{x \to a} [f(x)]^n = [\lim_{x \to a} f(x)]^n = M^n$$
